I finally received my first speeding ticket of the trip, surprising that it took this long, all things considered. The state trooper had a british accent and was so polite, i almost didn’t mind the citation. In fact, if he had told me my organs were needed immediately, not after an accident as stated on my license, I might have gone along with it.
I really enjoyed spending time with my Denver family. The city started to feel like home. It has a thriving Art scene (fine and street), lots of great restaurants and places to hang out and is super easy to get around for such a large city. Every time I told Sue my plans to leave she would say “you can’t go!” and my weekend there turned into a week and a half. Of all the places I’ve been on this trip, Denver has felt the most like home.

Congratulations on the 90 days with no speeding tickets! That is amazing. I drive kind of slow locally but on on cross country trips with hundreds of miles before your next stop….

Glad you are having such an amazing trip. Thanks for sharing it!

Your speeding ticket brings back memories of the ticket I got about 40 years ago–also in Colorado. There were no cars anywhere within sight, and I was traveling about 75 MPH, heading across the desert-East of Denver, when I suddenly heard a loud (airplane) speaker, with the order to pull in behind the cars ahead. When I topped the slight rise ahead, there were about 20 cars lined up behind a patrol car. After about 5 more cars joined us, we were escorted into a tiny village, where we were all levied fines & released upon payment. (The kind of “justice” that makes it hard for our loyal law-enforcement officers to live down.)
