Waking up in California felt like another day on the trip, not a return home as I expected. It was very cool to relate to my home state as a visitor. My fresh eyes saw some spectacular scenery as I traveled from Bishop through Mamoth and Yosemite. My friend Scott Nelson rode out to meet me for the last day of my trip and we traveled the final miles home together. We stop at a famous Bay Area motorcyclist hangout, Alice’s Restaurant south of the city. I make the trip to Pacifica and the Pacific Ocean and the loop is complete, 105 days and over 12,000 miles. I should be feeling a sense of accomplishment, instead I’m thinking about my next trip, planning a return to the deserts of Utah and Arizona.
The world seems so much bigger now, and my time on it so much shorter. Thanks to everyone who made this a great trip, at home and elsewhere.

Just now saw that you have completed your trip. Glad to see you had a great trip! Any idea when you might hit up the southwest again. One of my favorites. Wish I could have done the ride back to the bay with Scott. Look forward to seeing you.

Glad you had such an awesome trip and I wanted to thank you for sharing it. Thoughtful (and often funny) comments with beautiful pictures made the blog a pleasure to visit. Until your next trip…

Oh, and don’t forget Chicago ;)

Scott, We were glad to learn that you made it back to the Bay Area with no major setbacks. All in all, we are sure that the memories of all that travel, scenery, visits with friends and family, etc… will be with you always. Will always wish that I could have joined you for that trip, but do really appreciate you relating many of the details via this blog. We wish you the very best with your plans for the future. Please keep us informed and know that you are in our prayers. Jack & Marilyn
